Lessons In The Middle of the Storm

A couple of years ago, we were expecting an oncoming hurricane. It was during Labor Day weekend. It wasn’t exactly the holiday we had planned.

A couple of friends got married this particular weekend a few years ago. They went down to Orlando for their honeymoon. They were stuck in Orlando since the Hurricane decided to scream through the area. Luckily, they were on their honeymoon and they found plenty to keep them occupied.  ;-)

Successful Living With Positive Change

Is successful living really that elusive? As adults we are so chained to a certain way of living. We create and live by personal habits. When it comes to change a lot of us are like that baby sitting in a dirty diaper? It’s stinky & it’s gross. But HEY! It’s mine!

That’s how our habits keep us chained to our status quo. Does that sound familiar? How’s that working for your “successful life”? Maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s time to change your diaper… I mean behaviors and habits now!

How To Communicate The Right Message

He was in the 6th grade. He did pretty good in most subjects except Math. His mother sent his stepfather his room to help him with his Math homework. After a few minutes of silence, a loud yell of anger poured through the house.

His mother came in to a scene of her son being slapped very hard on the side of his head by her husband. He was yelling, “Are you that freaking stupid?”

Talk about motivation…

Except “freaking” was not the word he used.

Apparently, this guy was not a very good teacher. (insert sarcasm)

What’s worse is this was almost an everyday occurrence – not necessarily with the homework. But with the treatment.  Not until several years later when his mother and stepfather divorced did he understand that the words words he heard daily were lies and stupidity coming from an even more sad individual that didn’t have a grasp on his own life.

Offer Value Or A Smile

Valuable Lesson:

Entertainment sells. Personality sells. If you can make people feel good, and can monetize that, you’ll never go hungry.

And, even if you aren’t interested in monetizing, it’s great just to make people smile.

Living Life A Little Lighter

I had enough. No more compromise. Sick and Tired.
I was fat. Now I’m just overweight.

Today, I’m celebrating a little victory.
I’ve lost 15 pounds. I’m going to share with you how this happened.

It was a decision.
It was a committment.
It was a determination.
